The Vatican is investigating allegations of “sex party” orgies that is said to have taken place in one of its cathedrals in Newcastle, Great Britain, also involving multiple cases of sexual abuse whitin the Catholic Church.

Apparently the sex party orgies and the sexual abuse took place at St. Mary’s Cathedral at the same time as the rest of the country was under strict lockdown, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the Sunday Times, the Archbishop of Liverpool wrote that he had been asked by the Pope’s advisers to compile “an in-depth report” into events leading up to the resignation of Robert Byrne as the Bishop of Hexham and Newcastle in December. Byrne was made bishop in 2019 and was the one who appointed Father Michael McCoy as the Dean of St. Mary’s Cathedral in Newcastle.

It is believed that Father Michael McCoy during the lockdown period, had approached several parishoners and asked them to attend “a party” at the cathedral described by the source to the newspaper as “a sex party taking place in the priests living quarters attached to Newcastle cathedral”.

McCoy committed suicide in 2021 after police started to investigate him and historical allegations of child sex abuse connected to him.
