The Russian pro-Kremlin military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky, is reported to have been killed in Sankt Petersburg, Russia at a café after an explosion.
According to the investegating Russian authorities, the explosion was an “high -profile murder”.
Tatarsky, who’s real name was Maxim Fomin and had more than half a million followers on his Telegram channel, was invited to the café as guest speaker. He was there given a statue in a box as a gift, which had a bomb hidden inside, according to investigators.
It is still not yet clear who was behind the assasination of Tatarsky. Antoher theory is that the bomb was meant for the PMC Wagner group’s leader, the Russian oligarch Yevgeny Prigozhin, since the restaturant used to belong to him.
Prigozhin commented the blast by saying that the restaurant previously belonged to him, but he has given it to “patriotic” activists who have been holding meetings there.
Prigozhin doesn’t think Kiev regime was behind the blast, but instead was committed by “a group of radicals hardly related to the government,” Reuters report.
A woman by the name of Darya Trepova was on Monday morning suspected of being the person behind the murder of Tatarsky, RT reports, and is now put on a wanted list.
