Celebrating Christmas in Colombia can be a little bit tense (or maybe loose), say the least, with over 14000 violent fights reported in the whole country during Christmas holidays.
According to a report from the national police department, exactly 14373 violent fights were reported during the holidays.
Of these fights, 4033 were family-related, 1326 related to problems between neighbors, 1406 fights were drunk related and 7608 were fights of “other reasons”.
At the national level, there were 280 cases of personal injuries in which the National Police managed to capture at least 397 people. The report also states that 144 firearms and 1824 sharp weapons were seized.
But despite the cases of fights and personal injuries during the celebrations, there was also a 33.3% reduction in homicides compared to last year, according to the infobae.
