New legislation: Sex outside the marriage will be criminalized with jail sentence in this country

Cheating on your spouse by having sex outside the marriage, will now be criminalized in Indonesia.

The Indonesian parliament is expected to pass a new criminal code, that will penalise sex outside marriage, Reuters reports.

Cheating spouses may now face up to one year in prison as a punishmet, in accordance with the new bill that is expected to be passed on December 15, Indonesia’s deputy justice minister, Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej, told Reuters, and added, “We’re proud to have a criminal code that’s in line with Indonesian values”.
