A major store chain and department store in Sweden sells women’s panties with the following washing instructions sewn into the clothing items, in an attempt to fight climate change and environmental pollution.

“Think about the environment – Air ventilate preferably than washing”, says the label inside the panties

This was discovered by a woman when she bought a couple of panties at the department store, Åhléns, and decided to share this experience on social media that since then has gone viral.

“Panties bought at Åhléns. Check out the washing instructions. I’m dying.”, wrote the woman on social media

The department store has responded to Swedish media, TV4 with an explanation:

“Many of our panties are included in ‘programs’ together with either, for example, a soft top or tank top, and what then happened is that the panties were accidentally given the same washing advice tag as the tops”, said Monica Hultgren Andersson, communicator at Åhléns department store.
