The president of Belarus, Aleksander Lukashenko is afraid to get poisoned and has changed his whole cooking and bodyguard staff, the oligarch Leonid Nevzlin claims.

According to Leonid Lev Nevzlin, who is a Russian-born Israeli oligarch and businessman who once held top position in Yukos Oil Company, president Lukashenko is very afraid at the moment of being poisoned, after the sudden death of Belarusian foreign minister Vladimir Makei.

Leonid Nevzlin who is known for his criticism of president Vladimir Putin and who renounced his Russian citizenship in regards to the war in Ukraine and who earlier this year stated: “Everything that Putin touches dies. Russian citizenship itself has become a mark of disgrace that I no longer want to bear”, and he claims on Twitter that Vladimir Makei might have been poisoned by the FSB (the Russian security service) with poison developed in secret Russian labs, and that Lukashenko is next inline to get the same treatment according to Mr Nevzlin.

“The dictator trusts no one. Not without reason, he believes that a magnificent funeral can also be arranged for him after Makei.”, Nevzlin wrote.

In a other tweet Nevzlin writes: “Lukashenko knows what happened to Makei. And is afraid”.

Nevzlin argues in his motivation, that a possible motive to the claimed poisoning of Makei, that Moscow is not satisfied with the delay in the entry of the Belarusian army into the war against Ukraine, and is ready to use all kinds of methods to put pressure on Lukashenko.
