The Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz, calls the new leader of Syria’s Islamist rulers, Ahmad Hussein al-Shara, aka Abu Muhammad al-Julani, an al-Qaeda terrorist, after reports coming that at least 534 Alawites have been killed in clashes between the new regime and the Alawite population, who are loyal to the former ruler, Bashar al-Assad.
Katz said in a statement according to The Times of Israel that, “al-Julani switched his robe for a suit and presented a moderate face,” and continued, “Now he’s taken off the mask and exposed his true face: A jihadist terrorist of the al-Qaeda school who is committing horrifying acts against a civilian population.”
Katz added that, “Israel will defend itself against any threat from Syria,”
The new Syrian leader and the Islamic ruled Syrian state, has earlier been part of the terrorist organizations al-Qaeda and ISIS.
