Much higher fines to pee into Amsterdam canals due to the inflation

Peeing into Amsterdam canals has apparently been a major problem for a long time in the Dutch capital.
Before, the city’s authorities used to fine people with up to 100 Euros for urinating into the canals.
But due to the inflation and economic problems that Europe is currently facing, Amsterdam city has suddenly chocked the inhabitants and the tourists, by raising the fines up to 140 Euros, for those who get caught fulfilling their needs into the city’s canals, according to this video.
The problems of peeing into the Amsterdam canals is much bigger than just these increasing disgusting habits in the city.
Apparently many people drown into the canals every year while taking a leak into the water, mostly when they are high on drugs or alcohol.
Over 51 people drown in the canals over a period of three years, according to the city’s travel guide, DutchAmsterdam.nl.
Amsterdam and the Netherlands in general are well known for its liberal views on life.
Besides problems with having urinating people in canals, the country is also known for having legalized prostitution, brothels, cannabis smoking, assisted suicide clinics, and for having a politicial party for pedophiles and their rights.
