France has introduced a new legislation in the country to protect the children from x-rated content involving pornography. A digital-certification mechanism will be introduced, so all visitors that plans to visit porn websites, has to digitally identify themselves to make sure they’re adults.

People who want to visit porn websites like Pornhub, Xvideos, Youporn and so on, will have to install an application for government-licensed digital certification on their smart phones, to prove that they are at least 18 years old.

Websites which do not comply with the new legislation, will risk being banned from being published in France.

“I intend to put an end to this scandal … In 2023, it is the end of access to pornography websites for our children,” said French digital minister Jean-Noel Barrot to Le Parisien.
