China demands answers from the Biden administration about the alleged US involvement in the Nord Stream pipeline blasts after journalistic revelations

The Chinese government wants an “a responsible explanation to the world” from the US government about the alleged US involvement in the sabotage of the Russian-German Nord Stream pipelines, that was blown up and caused one of the worst natural disasters ever with natural gas leaking out into the Baltic Sea.

After a journalistic revelation made by the investigating US veteran journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner, Seymour Hersh, that was published on his website, accusing the US together with Norway of being the ones behind the blasts of the Nord Stream pipelines in September 2022, China now demands some answers from the US government about the accusations.

“If Hersh’s investigative report is true, this is unacceptable behavior and must be held accountable,” said Mao Ning, spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Friday when asked to comment on Hersh’s article. She also said that “The US should give a responsible explanation to the world”, the Chinese newspaper Global Times reports.

When Maos was asked to comment on US mainstream media’s silence over Hersh’s investigation, Mao stated that “it’s not the first time” that US media is silent about sensitive revelations.

“It proves that some US media outlets do not care what the truth is. They are deaf to the truth that really matters, and what is loudly hyped by them is often not the truth, but a false narrative,” said Mao.

Apparently not all US media outlets are silent about Hersh’s investigation. Fox News and its anchor Tucker Carlson are convinced that the Biden adminsitration is behind the blasts, by claiming “it’s the same administration that sabotaged the Nord Stream pipeline. The single biggest act of industrial terrorism in history, and continues to lie about it.” said Carlson.

Adrienne Watson, White House National Security Council spokesperson, responded on Wednesday to the accusations against the US government from Hersh’s investigation as “utterly false and complete fiction”.

The US blames Russia for being the head suspect of blowing up their own pipelines. But according to Hersh, the political elite in the US had more incentive to destroy the pipelines, considering the statements that were made from US officials prior to the incident. Not least from President Joe Biden himself, making this statement back in Februari 2022, before the Russian invasion took place:

“If Russia invades… again, then there will be longer Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it.” When asked how he would do that, Biden responded, “I promise you we will be able to do it.”

In January 2022, the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Victoria Nuland, who is accused of being one of the “driving forces of the war in Ukraine”, by pulling the strings behind the scenes, said on a press conference:

“I want to be clear with you today. If Russia invades Ukraine, one way or another, Nord Stream 2 will not move forward.”

Even the EU Parliament member and former Polish Foreign Minister, Radoslaw Sikorski, insinuated that the US was behind the blasts of the Nord Stream gas pipelines, when he thanked America for destroying the pipelines, by posting a photograph of a gas leak on his Twitter account, by writing “Thank you, USA.” A post that was later deleted.
