The Danish far-right politician, Rasmus Paludan who was behind the “Burn the Quran”-action outside the Embassy of Turkey in Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday, says that he and his activsts are planning a new action on Friday.

The politician Paludan, from the Danish political party, Stram Kurs (Hard Line), writes on his Instagram that they are planning to “burn a book” once again outside the Turkish Embassy, but this time in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark.

“A book will burn on Friday 27 January 2023 @ 12:30pm in front of Mosque on Dortheavej in Copenhagen, Denmark.”, writes Rasmus Paludan.

The previous anti-Islam “Burn the Quran”-actions in Sweden are seen as a provocation and a express of hate, that has created an outrage in the Muslim parts of the world. Not least in Turkey, who already has a very tense relation to Sweden in regards to Sweden’s plans to join NATO.

We condemn in the strongest possible terms the vile attack on our holy book … Permitting this anti-Islam act, which targets Muslims and insults our sacred values, under the guise of freedom of expression is completely unacceptable,” Turkey’s foreign ministry said, CNBC reports.

Turkey who is a NATO-member considers to block Sweden from ever joining NATO due to the Quran-burning actions, that has occurred in EU-countries like Sweden, but also in the Netherlands and in Denmark.
